Golf Injuries and Core Strenght
My wife is a goddess, as was proof this past week when it comes to golf injuries. I am thankful for having such a great girl. You see my college buddies and I who have keep in touch over the years planned a golfing get away. We had planned this golfing get together for the past year. Then it happened my golfing back started to act up putting some doubt on the trip. We all had looked forward to this weekend of playing golf, shooting the breeze and yes perhaps a little side betting on our golfing.
Believe it or not, my wife encouraged the trip… (hmmm.. wonder why she wanted me out of town?) and showed me how to get my back into proper shape. She’s a dancer and only watches golf when she walks through the living room and Tiger Woods is playing.
Back pain and Golfers Elbow are just two or the most common Golfing Injuries. Here are the other Top Ten, Shoulder Pain, Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, DeQuervain’s Tendinitis, Knee Pain, Trigger Finger, Wrist Impaction Syndrome, ECU Tendon Subluxation, Fracture of Hamate Bone.
When I was on the golf team I had dreams of playing the PGA back in my college days. Not being in Tiger Woods class it seems I had a better head for business than golf. Here is the good part, not once did I have any golf injuries while playing in college. I guess the younger age had played a big factor in that, being twenty compared to being over forty.
As I turned thirty the strain on my back seem to increase as I used my driver. Now that I am over forty, if proper exercise is not done I am going to have bad back problems. My wifes advice is very important if you want to keep playing often and want to get to the golf course a lot.
“Honey”… this is how my wife talks when she wants me to pay attention. “Whether you’re playing golf or dancing, you need to pay attention to core strength, stability and flexibility.” Since she was wearing alluring leotards, I could only sit spellbound and listen. “You need to do strength training to tighten up your abs (could that be hint?) since all your power comes from your center” (she motioned to her stomach, then did an imaginary golf swing) showing me how my abdominals effect my back and hips. Hmmm… maybe she was onto something. “And”, she continued, now on flow, “you have to stretch before you play, the better your strength and flexibility, the better you’ll feel during and after the game”. I couldn’t argue with her, and especially not when she smiled, that’s the gleam that caught my eyes years ago. So I took my wife’s advice, although she doesn’t know a divot from a shank and heaven forbid if I mention a foursome. But keeping a body in shape was her specialty I began to implement her advice, into my daily gold regimen; strengthening my midsection, stretching before tee time, trying (in general) to live healthier. Believe it or not, it not only helped my golf game, but my overall outlook, I could drive longer and straighter and playing eighteen holes didn’t wear me out.
My college buddies are now envious of were my golf game is at as a result of what my great wife has taught me about core strength. Now the golf injuries should be a thing of the past as I stride to keep in better shape and live a healthier lifestyle. Keeping up the daily exercise and especially the stretching before each game should make it so.
How To Buy Used Golf Clubs
Many times people who are just getting started in the game of Golf become as absorbed in a buying spree as they are in learning to play the game well. The urge to run out and buy professional caliber golf clubs is strong as though owning expensive and high quality clubs will make you a great golfer. But for most new golfers, buying used golf clubs is a smarter move.
Buying used clubs reduces the financial impact of getting into golf. You can continue to experiment with the game to see if you are going to be a lifelong golfer or if this is just a temporary fixation that will pass. And if you do cool on playing golf, your investment isn’t so huge and you can pass the clubs along to the next new golfer to give the game a try. Maybe more importantly, as you learn how to play golf, you will get a better feel for what is important in buying the golf clubs that will be your long term set and then when you make that larger investment, you know what you are doing.
Even if you do decide that it’s smart to go the used club route, it’s even smarter to not buy in the first few weeks or months of learning to play gulf but to rent clubs at first. You can work out a deal with your favorite golf shop to rent the same set for several weeks so you can get used to them. This way you can focus on learning golf along with what you like and don’t like about how your rental clubs work for you. A side benefit is that by establishing a relationship with the rental shop you like, they can let you know when they are putting used golf club sets on sale and you can get a bargain.
Even when you start shopping for a used set of clubs to make your starter set, it’s a great idea to seek out some wise counsel about the purchase. Knowing how to evaluate clubs will help you avoid the disaster of paying money for clubs that are a terrible fit to your style of play. So work with your golf instructor or pros at the shop you are familiar with because he can give you a list of criteria so you have some guidelines when you shop for your first set of clubs. Then when you do buy, you will feel like you were an informed consumer rather than buying out of ignorance.
A hands on shopping experience when looking even for used clubs is crucial because how the clubs feel when you test swing them is very important for that purchase decision. That is why when you are in golf shops, you always see people who know what they are doing using the clubs and trying out a putt or a swing with them to get that feel for how they would serve on the golf course. But the first order of business for you as a rookie golfer is to know how they should feel in your hands in the first place. When you hold the club for a drive or a putt, it should be a comfortable fit to your grip and your size and you should not feel strange or uncomfortable in your hands. This is the value of renting clubs because you can understand what feels right and what doesn’t.
One obvious criteria for judging even used club is the quality of their construction. The head of each club is a great example because they should be quality stainless steel as opposed to a cheaper alloy head that won’t serve well long term. There are some excellent design innovations that you can look for in a starter set of golf clubs which include cavity backed golf clubs so named because the back of the head is hollowed out and perimeter weighted clubs. But clubs that have extended heads are a great choice as well because they help you refine your game and get better shots early on. You can then switch to normal sized golf clubs when you are ready to put your starter set aside.
But the heads are not the only aspect of the golf club you should learn to consider when looking at used clubs. The long part of the club that makes up the shaft should make for an easy swing and be light and easy to handle. But in your early weeks of golfing, you learned that the grip is a crucial part of the golf club and it must be right for you to be a success. But if the grips of the used clubs are a bit worn, that’s not a big deal because they can be fixed inexpensively. But even before that is fixed, test how the club feels when you hold it and take some test swings in a drive or putt position so you know if all of the parts of the club work well for you.
Shopping for this first set of clubs is both exciting and intimidating. By getting some criteria such as we have described here and with your check list from the golf pro in hand, you will be a smarter shopper. And when you take each club out and put it through its paces as part of the evaluation process, you will feel better about your ability to ask questions and interact with the club owner and about your final decision whether it is to go ahead and buy the clubs or keep on looking.
Get Free Credits With Poker Software
Poker is enormously popular, though live casinos often find it difficult to make a decent profit off the game because of their high operating costs. Online poker is changing the face of the game, though. Poker playing software is available through most online casinos, allowing players to bet for very low stakes, with no entry fees, most of the time.
The first thing that a potential gambler will need to do is find a good online casino. The casino poker software will be available as a download, either immediately or upon account creation. Hold ‘Em poker software will be included with the majority of these options.
Poker playing software does more than just let gamblers play a hand of poker. Using casino poker software, bettors can play against people around the world, at all skill levels. There are several popular games usually included with these software applications, from options like 5 Card Stud to Texas Hold ‘Em poker software. These games are all bundled with the initial download. Once the application has been downloaded and installed, the gambler can then choose which game they would like to play, right from their desktop.
How does poker playing software work? Casino poker software creates a virtual poker room, filled with different tables. Most online poker rooms will have a listing of the different tables available, with game information, wager amount required and other information. Hold ‘Em poker software is embedded into this application, rather than being a standalone gaming platform. However, you can download single games, such as Stud or Texas Hold ‘Em. This is a good option is you simply want to hone your skills.
What should you look for in an online poker software package? The highest priority is to find a casino that offers the games that you want. Other considerations are the sign up bonuses offered, the frequency of rollover bonuses and their policy on using bots. Robots (software designed to play the game), have been making headlines lately.
There have been several online casinos noted for using bots to play against their gamblers. While this is technically not an ethical issue, it does pose some problems for players. The best option is to find a casino that offers only real players. That way you are actually gaming against someone with real skill, rather than a piece of software designed to play the game.
Online poker can be enormously enjoyable. The key, though, is to find the right combination of options to ensure that you continue to enjoy it. The right casino is just as important as the right game.

Shopping items can fit into the basket attached in the front of the bicycle. Also, they offer a fabulous way of traveling while you are on a holiday and aid you to explore various places.
Riding on road as well off road is always done by people however mountain biking has a history of that started thirty years ago in the year 1970′s. Current trend designs have made accessibility to this sport easier to people and mountain biking shows that this sport is now more famous than it was ever.
Though enjoyed by people all over the world, mountain biking started its life in California, America. A cycle fanatic group decided to check out few runs on the downhill on their bikes that might now look old fashioned to most of us. The tracks are almost the same as the mountain bike race tracks of today however; there has been a considerable change in the bikes over the prevailing years.
Such races had become well-known, and earlier similar long races happened along the tracks at various locations in different countries.
New materials and methods of building these bikes have come into reality that has made building a bike very easy that can withstand anything that a rough not on road terrain can give to the bike.
Frames that are light strong and good gears have allowed many people to give a try by making mountain biking easy. Mountain biking history shows that earlier mountain bike riders started adapting their bikes to make the best out of the downhill routes and runs and hence evolved the current day mountain biking.
Earlier, the only kind of bicycle that could be bought was supposed to be only ridden on the road. Though people rode this bicycle off road, it was not so famous enough to guarantee a bike specifically designed for this use.
However, California bikers have changed all this. Mountain biking history started with them and they started to think again about the way bicycles had to be made to make a design that would be able to withstand all the conditions and obstacles that these off road track give. And riding Tandem bicycles here would be a better choice in this regard.
Whenever you get hold of your mountain bike and plan for a ride might be across the down or a muddy field or a slippery slope that is steep with konbbly tires, should remind you of the 1970′s pioneers. These included not only those for men but also bikes for women.
5 Tips on How to Play Better Golf
Golf is a great game and can become very frustrating for most golfers. It can be such a sweet game when you play well, and then it can be that day of ‘what the’. Here are 5 simple ways you can look at now to improve your game and play better golf
1. Although training aids can be tremendously helpful in working out the kinks in your game, the importance of good equipment can’t be underestimated. A good set of golf clubs will help you play your best, but if you can’t afford a new set, you can always opt for brand name pre-owned golf clubs. Used golf clubs often come with a certification and warranty, so you can be assured of their quality.
2. Study the experts and follow their advice, there’s a simple reason why certain golfers are so successful, it’s because they know what they’re doing. But so many golfers don’t regularly learn from other golfers, they try to improve their game on their own and it often is a much slower process this way, read, learn and study other golfers to improve your own game and especially your swing, if you’re slicing.
3. The good news is that if you practice correctly you do not need to spend large amounts of time practicing. Use your practice time wisely and you will find yourself getting better at golf spending minimal time practicing. Developing the right swing mechanics is very important if you want to become a better golfer. If you are a beginner then it is a very good idea to get a few basic lessons from a local golf professional. Remember that you do not need to have a perfect swing in order to shoot low scores.
4. Your Stance – The important point to remember with the stance is to keep your weight balanced and your feet position getting wider up to shoulder width as the club you are using gets longer. So for the driver you will want the most stability thus a wider stance with your legs shoulder width apart is ideal. Also the ball position should start at the center of your stance for a wedge and move up to the heel of your left foot for the driver.
5. Warm up and gently stretch your muscles before starting a round, and it is equally important to cool down properly after your game. Just a few stretches after a round of golf can help reduce the risk of any injuries, particularly to the back and hamstrings. Walking can tighten your hamstrings and that makes them more susceptible to tearing and injury. A good golf swing also requires a lot of back movement and if you haven’t warmed up properly before your first swing, you could do some severe damage.
The tips above are simple and not too technical – but very effective at improving your overall game. So give it a go and play better golf now.

This article talks about the different kinds of well-known mountain bike races that might be raced either as a hobby or a sport.
Considering mountain biking as a hobby or a sport, it is divided into 9 various categories and these are much skilled in their offer. These 9 categories are:
BMX offers a style where the wheels of the bikes measure 20 inches. Dirt jumps or skate parks are the places where these bikes are used commonly. The small size of their wheels and short wheel bases make easy to perform stunts and tricks.
Cross country kind of mountain biking includes riding up and down the hills with your bike. Though it is the very less intense kind of mountain biking, many of the riders of cross country are fit enough for long rides.
Cyclo cross is a cross between mountain biking and road. The riders have to overcome the obstacles, traverse the rivers and have to race off and on the course.
Dirt Jumping encompasses jumping along with the bike over a big dirt jumps that are made by man and also perform tricks when they are in air. Such jumps are usually close so that riders can six or more jumps can be covered for one run and thus get the flow and also the momentum for higher jumps.
Racing down the hill at the fastest pace is termed as downhill mountain biking. This riding is very extreme and intense and gives a chance to the rider to experience the ultimate excitement and thrills.
Expressing yourself by finding the correct line down the hill utilizing the complete terrain is Freeride. These are very famous competitions as it allows the riders to express them anyway they look fit.
No confusion with the gears that are fixed, this is a kind of cross country biking with the help of a bike with a single gear and very less components. Simplicity is the main idea behind the uniform speed. The chain line that is straight provides a pedaling that’s efficient and fewer components would mean a lighter bike and less mechanical problems.
Street and Urban kind of riding includes riding in ledgers, urban areas and also over come different man made obstacles. Riders would also perform tricks like grinds and stalls. Before choosing a bicycle you must see the bike reviews which will help in determining.
A trail is a kind of mountain biking where the bikes don’t have the look of mountain bikes. These use wheel of 20 or 26 inch measurement, low frames and sport small. Riders here jump and hop over the obstacles with their mountain bikes that would need intense amount of concentration and balance.
Sizing Mountain bikes
This article speaks about the different parts of the bicycle and the way to have them setup to make you feel more comfortable and enjoy your ride.
Apart from providing an expert advice and better selection, personnel of bike shop also help you in getting bike of right size fitted. You might not enjoy much if the size of your bike is either too small or too big. Considering few points would aid you in having mountain bike of perfect size and fit.
Standover height or the inseam clearance would be the first things to be checked when you plan to check the fitting for yourself. You might require enough space between the top tube and yourself when you halt the bike. The sufficient clearance would be nearby four to six inches from the inseam top to the top of the top tube.
You have an effective formula to determine the position of leg while riding a mountain bike. The terrain or the path is not consistent and hence while you ride your mountain bike, it might constantly raise you off the seat or slightly move or sometimes completely off the seat.
Hence, you might require to set your seat little lower than you would do on other kinds of bike. When you consider the frame size, ensure to take into effect a little lower seat height position.
Compartment layout for the rider should be your next point of check which is the handle bars and the seat distance. Once you determine the correct leg positions make sure to have the handler bar to below the saddle height by one or two inches. Handle bars should never be higher than the saddle, unless you have an upper body problem.
Having the suspensions on both the ends, you might want to have your weight to be more in the middle part of the bike that would distribute evenly the weight between the rear and front suspension units. Thus, this allows the rear and front suspension to work as one unit.
This can be easily achieved with the help of either a shorter or higher stem for raising the hand height which in turn would move the weight to the rear and the upper body moves up. This increase in the height should be less than 3 inches, later there should not be more than two inches decrease in reach.
After having all the points considered, take a test drive of the bike. Do wear a helmet though you are going for a test ride for a short span of time. Check your tires for the right pressure and also if the shop has made the bike to fit you properly.
Have an employee of the shop notice your body position and height of the ride when you ride further determining any adjustments that need to be made. Ride the bike for a while for a hands-on the new equipment and its handling. Start slowly initially and give some time of the bike to show its personality.
You might feel that the bike isn’t normal or something is working incorrectly. If you feel uncomfortable, get back to the shop to have the problem sorted out before you decide to rule out the bike. Now a days Bike frame size chart are fitted to it which makes it easier in handling tough situations.
More rides you have on the bikes, the more easier it would be to identify the difference in the type of rides. Remember that it might take few months or years to praise the bike handling way. Talk to people who ride and inquire if they ride those bikes that they sell. This would help you understand more about the mountain bikes that you love the most!!!
Ideal pressure setting for your tire for different situations for
This article talks about setting the pressure for a bicycle tire for mountain biking. It also helps us understand the different pressure level needed for different situations of riding.
Having the pressure set for your tires is one of the important and basic things that a cyclist should learn in mountain biking. A Perfectly inflated tire gives a controlled and smooth ride to the cyclist. Tires with less pressure increase the chances of having a flat tire and in turn make cycling hard for the cyclist and on the other hand high pressure would make the bike uncontrollable and bumpy.
The pressure in the tire would vary accordingly depending on the rider’s personal preferences, the tire’s condition, nature of the mountain track and also the terrain type. Pressure in the tire can be regulated with the usage of bicycle pump of better quality. A correct gauge is also needed for noting the pressure reading accurately.
Watch the bicycle ride after inflating the tire according to the instructions of the manufacturer and this can be adjusted as required. Using the same pump and gauge would be ideal as different gauges display different readings.
Starting with a very high pressure is a good approach which would be 40-50 PSI (3-3.5 bar) and lower the tire pressure and check out ton the kind of pressure that would match to your bike most. High pressure would be needed if one is on the heavier side of the track.
Taking a test ride is the best way of determining the pressure in the tire. Now observe the behavior of your tire on different tracks, its sliding on the mountains and how does tire hook up in corners.
If the tire has a high pressure, then drop it by 5 PSI in each of the tires. After you decrease the pressure, if you find the tire to be more stable and also improves the grip on the ground, then make this pressure as a standard one else, decrease the pressure again and test the above again.
Notice how we can ride without having any flat tires to know the lowest of the pressures. You get a flat tire whenever an object compresses the tire and the tube of the tire would get damaged.
It is always suggested to use low pressure about 30 – 40 psi for a tubeless system. The risk of flat tires is very less in a tubeless tire system and also we don’t see any frequent rim contact so that we can easily ride on very low pressures. Be careful not to dent the rims of the tire or have the air burped out along the bead. The tire would roll under a rim while we ride hard corners on very low pressure. Shimano triahtlon shoes are mostly required when riding a bicycle in the terrains.
Another test for balancing would be observing resistance for rolling on low pressures. The additional resistance for rolling needs more efforts but also gives us increased climbing traction and control. For inter-country racers efficiency is more important than control.
For mountain bikes, squeeze the tire with hand and feel the pressure and this is one of the most common methods to understand the requirement of air for the tire.
An Inroduction To Fly Fishing
The sport of fly fishing has long been enjoyed by men. From the middle ages fly fishing publications started to appear and a book by Juliana Berners, who was a nun, covered the topic well and included some of the fly patterns which must have been in use at the time (15th century).
It is reasonable to assume that fish have been a useful source of food for thousands of years. Ancient Egyptian hieroglyphics, from around 2,000BC, show men fishing from boats. Unfortunately we can not determine if this was for food or just sport. However we do know that the Ancient Romans used fly fishing techniques as it is documented that they used artificial flies.
In fly fishing the artificial fly is attached to a fine line and carefully cast into the water. Fish are drawn to the fly and take it into their mouths whereby the hook penetrates the flesh enabling the fish to be worked ashore. Great skill is involved in using the fly fishing rod, line, fly and cast style to fool the fish into thinking it is suitable food or just making it look so interesting that they have to investigate further.
Queen Victoria did much to promote the early development of fly fishing in the United Kingdom. Her many visits to Scotland helped create tourism to the area and the English upper classes flocked to the region to indulge in fly fishing, stag hunting and other Scottish pastimes.
The first fly fishing equipment was produced by hand by highly skilled and deeply knowledgeable individuals. By the 19th century a small cottage industry had developed to fulfill the needs of anglers. Handmade equipment is always expensive and finely crafted and superbly balanced rods and reels from that period are still in great demand today and prove very popular items in auctions.
One of the most interesting aspects of fly fishing is the numerous fly patterns used to create highly effective flies. Using a variety of materials such as differently coloured feathers, hairs and fur, the craftsman would work to specific patterns in an attempt to create a fly which would be highly successful in catching fish. Some of the patterns used during the 19th century were so effective that the patterns are still used today.
There are two distinctive types of fly fishing flies, wet flies and dry flies. Wet flies are those types that are allowed to sink into the water. As such flies can often appear, in the eyes of the fish, as small underwater creatures or small fish, they can, if used correctly, be an incredibly effective fly. On the other hand dry flies are those types that are not allowed to sink and remain floating on the surface. Appearing to fish as an insect that has just landed or fallen onto the water, or even looking like an insect emerging from the water, such flies are excellent when used by the hands of a skillful angler who understands how to cast properly.
The fly fishing industry is now huge and one of the most lucrative areas of business is in the provision of fly fishing vacations. Some areas of America offer some of the finest fishing grounds in the word but it is to Europe that many anglers look when asked where they would like to visit most. On the top of most lists are the salmon rivers of Scotland where there are a number of absolutely amazing salmon runs. As well as salmon, trout is also highly popular and a great many lochs are well stocked with trout and other fish just perfect for all types of angler.
